Subject: hunting a 680
I am in the market to upgrade my recorder so I am sampling 680 and r-44 recordings. I also run a V3, but would like the multiple channel option with good onboard pres. This recording just might be the clincher for me!!!

The Milab/Tascam DR680 is a sweet rig, but notice there is NO outboad preamp in the chain, just mics to the onboard pre's on the tascam. nakguy has a number of preamps, including the grace v2, but the pre's in the tascam are so sweet, he opts use them. Bold sell for Tascam.

Subject: Nice sound!
I found this show through searching for recordings made with the Tascam DR-680. Incidentally this is the 1st recording made with the Milabs that I've ever listened to. I have to say I am seriously impressed with the combo! The low end is really full and smooth without being overpowering.

Did you use cards or omnis?

Subject: Thanks
Been listening to this version for two days after grabbing it from etree - it's amazing! Great quality, thanks. The show itself is mindblowing, the more I listen the better it sounds! Making me revisit albums I haven't enjoyed in a while.
